Agrodome Trade Press Release 22/08/11
A new commitment to growing New Zealand Tourism:
The value proposition has just become that much stronger for trade sellers of tourism product and visitors to Rotorua. A new union has been forged in a partnership between Ngai Tahu Tourism and owners of the Agrodome and the Lakeland Queen of Rotorua, Warren Harford and Paul Bowen.
Ngai Tahu Tourism's portfolio of products associated with outdoor activities and with the natural environment provides an easy fit with the iconic Agrodome and Lakeland Queen and will ensure a saleable mix of land and water based attractions for New Zealand tourism operators.
A new era in cross promotional attractions in the Central Park region has begun and will see increased emphasis, both on and off-shore, offering economies of scale through combo packages. Additionally the strengthening tourism base in Rotorua will provide confidence to the emerging markets, such as Cruise, and add more value to the opportunity for air transporters to invest further in the region.
With the recent investment by Ngai Tahu Tourism in its Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park, the next focus will be enabling the growth plans of the Agrodome and the Lakeland Queen to be developed that much faster.
CEO of the Agrodome, Grant Kilby expects a smooth transition in the formation of the partnership between organisations and is excited about the potential to work together with Ngai Tahu Tourism's team. "The New Zealand wide reach of this partnership has our team champing at the bit to work together" Kilby says. Kilby notes further, "The milestone of the Agrodome's fortieth year in operation is something to be very proud of and is testament to delivering a unique and respected New Zealand tourism product, we look forward to ensuring the legacy continues together.
